Sonnet # 17

by M. Douglas Hoss

In the fullness of ever rolling seas
and abyssal void of ancient canyons,
I look for your need, your hope, your heart. I
look for your omnipotence, your breath, and

life. I look for all things kind and true that
either were, or are, or will come from you.
I look for everything of relish
that seeks everything I am, as well.

For among the ever reaching waves
and emptiness of many long dead ruins,
you are here and I am here. We are both

there together, whether we live and breathe
or not, we are a love that is never
satisfied, or ends, or ever needs to stop.
