ephemera

we built a concrete house
but did not call it home
because we worshipped fear
than love that we have known

we dug holes underground
put two hearts in the deep
we made bonfire around
until we couldn’t sleep

i woke up next to you
fighting my demons well
but you just let me go
to find a better cell

the house was in ruins
the second that you left
i walked in widdershins
yesterday’s all i kept

your significance died
but lore is on the wall
shouting at me, don’t hide
you’ll stand each time you fall
