by M. Douglas Hoss
For I have longed
Through Longing’s long
And longed for that
Which never longed me back
So, if I’ve done wrong
To what I belonged,
Then, it‘s because of the sense
That I so sorely lacked.
But senselessness aside I think
That the love I knew
Is still so very strong
And if my dreams, with me,
Still come along,
It is because that love
Still longs
To be with you.
