Is this my soul
As embered coal
Contained by Passion’s place
And tended there
By Lovely’s fare
In shadows of your grace?
Is this my heart
So set apart
From Empty’s vast expanse
And nurtured by
Your loving eye
In joyous elegance?
I cannot speak
My thoughts, which seek
Your love that has no word
Nor sing a tune
Of heartfelt swoon
On hopes which rise unheard.
If I could be
Forever free
To that which I aspire,
I’d have so strong,
For Ever’s long.
Your love I so desire.
