About Samuel Rogers
Samuel Rogers was a known english poet although his fame has long since been eclipsed by his Romantic colleagues and friends. He made his reputation by his collection The Pleasures of Memory when William Cowper's fame was still in the making. He became the friend of Wordsworth, Walter Scott and Byron, and lived long enough to give an opinion as to the fitness of Alfred Tennyson for the post of Poet Laureate.Browse all poems and texts published on Samuel Rogers
