With stars past troughs to sound
-thru thick twilight
-by the stumps of the trees
blasts near the faces of leaves
by a hair's breadth separated:
with but a proof to the leaves'
closeness: leaf over leaf's face
with a hair: and the cheek kissed
with the shredded space.
