About Joanna Fuhrman
Joanna Furhman is an American poet and assistant-professor. She is the author of six books of poetry, To a New Era (2021), The Year of Yellow Butterflies (2015), Pageant (2009), Moraine (2006), Ugh Ugh Ocean (2006) and Freud in Brooklyn (2000). Her seventh book Data Mind, is forthcoming from Curbstone/Northwestern University Press in 2024. Her poems have appeared in many journals, including The Believer, Fence, Lit, Quarterly West, Conduit, and American Letters and Commentary, as well as on the 365 Poems for Every Occasion (Abrams, 2015), and in anthologies published by Soft Skull Press, HarperCollins, New York University, and Carnegie Mellon University. Her poem Stagflation won a 2011 Pushcart Prize, and her poem Lavender was featured on The Slowdown podcast.She lives in Brooklyn, NY, with her husband. In 2022, she became a co-editor of Hanging Loose Press.
