The Demon Inside You

There’s always that one part inside,
that tries to hide the truth.
It fills your head with lies,
and takes away your youth.
This dark, lonely, and scary part,
that lives inside your head.
Takes away your happiness,
and fills it all with dread.
This part inside of you,
that causes all your fear,
Is just making trouble
and is the reason for each tear.
As the tears drop, drop, drop,
you try to hide your face.
And think of something better,
or go to your happy place.
It’s hard to overcome,
all the pain you feel.
As you try to ignore the fact,
that the demon inside you is real.
