About Barbara Hamby
Barbara Hamby is an American poet and writer. She published her first book of poetry, Delirium in 1995 by University of North Texas Press. She is the author of numerous books including her more recent collection Holoholo (2021), Bird Odyssey (2018), and On the Street of Divine Love: New and Selected Poems (2014). Her fourth book of poems, All-Night Lingo Tango (2009), was published by the University of Pittsburgh Press. Her third book of poems, Babel, was chosen by Stephen Dunn to win the 2003 Associated Writing Programs Donald Hall Prize for Poetry. Hamby received a fellowship in Poetry from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1996. She has also received three fellowships from the Florida Arts Council. Her poems have appeared in The New Yorker, Poetry, The Paris Review, Yale Review, American Poetry Review, and many other many other magazines. as well as Best American Poetry 2000, 2009 and 2010.Browse all poems and texts published on Barbara Hamby
