About Arthur Stringer
Arthur Stringer (Feb. 26, 1874 – Sept. 13, 1950) was a Canadian poet and writer who later moved to the United States. Stringer's best claim to poetic fame today rests on his 1914 book, Open Water, the first book by a Canadian poet to use free verse.
