God Cut the Cord

Text, emails, phone calls
waiting for that link to my soul.
Incessant, persisting, lingering thoughts
of being with my love every hour and every day.

Ignored, left isolated in the icy cold winds.
Body, soul, heart and spirit shattered.
Lover's essence, the blood in my veins, that beauty, the diamonds in my mind.
Images of lover's radiance dancing in my heart but it ruptured.

Broke in one thousand pieces as crushed glass, a cutting torment
with every cruel word and indifference to my yearning and loving intent.
God bring peace and love to me in this hour of lament.
Help me as I grab at shadows and echoes to find my love as darkness looms silent.

Awoke in the yellow sun as nightmares and demons knock.
God speaks in his warm tone, "Cut the cord of your dependency."
"Depend only on God as He is your Savior, your Anchor and your Rock."
Next day I dreamed of His Blessing, strong, free from lover's fickle indecency.
