On the Reason for Writing


I enjoy the satisfaction I get when people read and enjoy my poems or stories. I like to know that I’ve struck a chord with someone. It’s different from the reason most people write, which is for their own benefit, to vent or express anger or whatever. But I also think it’s what makes my writing good—that I care if someone reads it besides myself.
