Through my eyes the world seemed dark,
Yet I felt not depraved;
The first time that someone came
And made me, brought me in:
There was the life of brightness
In the world I lived!
I sought for his speech;
I sought for his song;
I sought for his voice;
Yet I could witness not any of these!
The only response I incurred
Was his tap on my shoulder!
Even my voice could reach him not,
As I turned back to speak;
But I sensed a kindness of care and love
As he held my hands soft and firm!
Something he often conveyed:
He belonged to me!
I can witness true brightness
Whenever I am with him!
I see the world through him;
As if I were blessed with eye-sight
Together we shared the nature’s sight,
Heard the songs of birds,
And the echoes of the deep blue sea,
Drank the wine of pleasure,
Embraced the truth of love,
Sang to the ecstasy of life!
