Those special days that make me think of you are forever in my mind
Like the day we met, I will never forget, when you helped my soul to find
Those days when you lifted my spirits and threw the darkness out
Those special and those blissful days when I was left without a doubt
I thank you for those days, bless you for those days
I think of you at Christmas and though now I’m all alone
My mind can feel the warmth of how you blessed our home
We sang our carol concerts and decorated our tree
We filled our hearts with love, with Christmas and with glee.
I thank you for those days, bless you for those days.
My mind it goes to New Years and of happy Hogmanay’s
And of how we drank our whisky to celebrate those days
Oh how we loved those times, we thought they’d never end
For me to you and you to me we would always be such friends
I thank you for those days, bless you for those days.
And then there is your birthday, another special day
To have you on this earth, I was blessed in every way
We’d celebrate with cake and candles and seal it with a kiss
Ah how I long for those days, those days I surely miss
I thank you for those days, bless you for those days
Then there is that special day, the day when we were wed
A day I can never forget and is always in my head
I thought you were so beautiful, an angel from afar
And nothing’s changed you are still as you are
I thank you for those days, bless you for those days
But now I’m old and all alone and sitting by a fire
Staring at the ember glow thinking of my desire
But you are gone and I miss my love, always my love for sure
So I think of all our special days and pray for you once more
I thank you for those days, bless you for those days.
