Breath in -
Breath out
It’s as though I never count
They say to wait…
Of course, I do!
Then they never answer…
Never mind that I’m blue!
Do they care?
Really care?
Can my heart truly matter…
Do I dare?
I feel as though
I’m left in the dark;
Sitting alone; missing the mark!
Little do they know…
My heart belongs to them!
They pick it up;
Then drop it on a whim.
Who are “they”
Should you ask?
For them alone,
I wear my facial mask!
Begging for their love,
At least to pretend!
While I sit here,
with my heart on the mend.
