A balmy evening
combines
with romantic yearnings
as a nerve
beside a twitching eye
accidentally flickers
towards a lovely lady.
She shyly looks away
apprehensive yet attentive
interpreting it as a cheeky wink
until disconcertingly
she sees
the deceiving eye
settle on a prettier boy.
