by Jeffrey T. Bender
I am not some simple ring
I break on the fingers of those undeserving.
But to those living of this society
I symbolize the bonds of true love everlasting.
But those, however, who are filled with piety
Know I'm not needed to pronounce their marrying.
They know that love is much greater
Than this worldly thing.
That love is more beautiful
Than some diamond ring.
