by Diana Cosma
she gulped him down
welcome into the desert of her body;
only a couple of grapes were left
witness to the flood cried from the outside in.
her desperate act
of philanthropy
got noah drunk
and he saved a pair of every species
of sorrow
for the uncharted land of her cheeks
as she overfed him baby bottles
of liquid revenge
whispered so loud
that they both forgot
just how large of a desert
her whole existence used to be
before his blessed era
of trying to accomplish impossible things.
now she’s grown up
to be a baby addict
drunk on whine, laughing out loud
at the possibilities
hidden in the plain sight of
quitting.
