Viscera of Beauty

Atul Chandra Sarkar

Until yesterday she walked in beauty,
Down the aisle of fame,
A charming face, a pleasing grace,
Having a lovely name.

All good things must come to end,
So was it in her case,
The mighty Time did, as it does:
Snatching away her later days.

‘How did it happen?’ on every tongue,
Has an answer badly strangled,
The beauty that once enchanted,
Is now a viscera mangled.

Surf channels one by one,
The media has questions hundred,
Leaving medics and jurists to decide,
It reels out the ‘happily wed’?

Who is right and who is wrong?
Shall the truth be ever known?
Shall justice really be dispensed?
Or be lost in controversies overgrown?

What brings one’s end is jinxed,
Tossed between sound and hushes,
God alone knows the truth,
While behind the frame, the dead blushes???
