by Amadis Jamyn
Summer will be winter and spring will be fall,
The air will become heavy, the lead will be light:
We'll see the fish in the air traveling
And dumb as they are, they have very good voices.
water will become fire, fire will become water
Rather than I be taken by another new love.
Evil will bring joy, and ease sadness!
The snow will be black, and the hare bold,
The lion will become blunt blood,
The earth will have neither grass nor wealth;
The rocks of oneself will have a movement
Rather than in my love there is change.
The wolf and the sheep will be in the same stable
Locked up without suspicion of any enmity;
The eagle with the dove will have friendship
And the chameleon will not be mutable:
No bird will nest at renewal
Rather than I be taken by another new love.
The moon that perfects his career in a month
Will do it in thirty years instead of thirty days;
Saturn which completes its course with thirty years
Will see itself lighter than the light moon:
Day will be night, night will be day
Rather than ignite myself in the fire of another love.
The years will not change the hair or the custom,
The senses and the reason will remain in peace,
And the more pleasant will be the unfortunate successes
Only the pleasures of the world to the heart that lights up.
We will hate life, preferring to die
Rather than being seen running around.
We will not see hope lodged in the world;
The false from the true will not be discerned,
Fortune in its changing gifts will only be,
All the effects of mars will be without violence,
The sun will be black, visible will be God
Rather than I be seen captive in another place.
